A record number of players gathered in Falador yesterday for the annual memorial service commemorating the Falador Massacre, one of the most infamous events in Gielinor's history.

The ceremony, held in the city's central square, included a moment of silence, a candle-lighting ceremony using Firemaking skill, and speeches from several prominent community members.

"We must never forget what happened here," said Falador Mayor Sir Amik Varze. "And we must ensure our bug-testing is thorough enough that it never happens again."

Calls for Better Security

Several attendees used the occasion to call for improved security measures in Falador and other major cities.

"It's been years, and we still don't have proper walls," complained one attendee. "Any high-level player could walk right in. At least Varrock has guards. We've got one guy with a white sword."

The memorial concluded with a mass prayer-switching demonstration, which organisers said was meant to symbolise "the community's resilience and also their muscle memory."
